Welcome to the Order of St Luke website, and thank you for your interest in the Christian healing ministry and your time to visit this site. The Order of St Luke seeks to promote the continuing healing ministry of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Affectionately known as "OSL", our mandate is to see the ministry of healing restored to its place in church worship services everywhere.
The Order of St. Luke was created in the 1930's by the Rev. John Gaynor Banks, a priest of the Episcopal Church, out of his concern that Christ's mandate to the Church "to preach the Gospel and heal the sick" was not seen to be a strong part of the church's proclamation or ministry. Although the Order was started by an Episcopal priest it was never under the auspices of the Episcopal Church. The Order is now truly an ecumenical ministry with clergy and lay people from almost every denomination whose common purpose is to be a resource for the whole Church of Christ to help its clergy and people recapture the Christian Ministry of healing and make it a normal part of ministry of every congregation.
In the following web pages you will find links to help you locate local
chapters who invite you to join with them in studying the healings of Jesus,
and to pray and support one another for individual healing ministries. You
are also invited to attend the many healing conferences and missions listed
on the Calendar page.

OSL will soon announce a Weekend Training Program for delivery in your
church. The training weekends will be led by experienced leaders and are
designed not only to address the needs of beginners but also to provide
a valuable refresher for those who are already experienced. How To Build
And Encourage Prayer Teams will also be addressed during the training weekend.
