Some things to note on membership:There are two types of membership, Associate Membership and Full Membership. They are explained below. If you have been a member of the order but aren't now, you may reinstate your membership or you may renew your membership.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
When you first join OSL, you become an Associate Member. You then spend some time preparing for Full Membership.

You will then be an associate member. Associate members receive a yearly subscription to Sharing, A Journal of Christian Healing, a certificate of associate membership, a copy of the Order of St. Luke Handbook for Christian Healing, and a set of work sheets for the 26 Gospel Study Lessons, a bible study project on "The Healing Ministry of Jesus Christ". This is a study project which all members of the order are asked to complete and is one of the requirements for full membership in the International Order of St. Luke the Physician.

FULL MEMBERSHIP
To achieve full membership in The International Order of St. Luke the Physician, an associate member must read three books from a list of recommended books which is sent to all new members. It is possible to complete the Research and Study Program within six months and every associate member is encouraged to do this. Affiliation with a chapter during this period will facilitate study and acquaint the associate member with the general work of OSL in his or her area.

The time spent as an associate member is also a time for reflection and prayer to discern if this is a ministry to which you are called. After at least six months as an associate member, and upon completion of the required study, an associate member may apply to an OSL chaplain or regional director for induction into the International Order of St. Luke the Physician as a full member.

CONTINUING MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the International Order of St. Luke the Physician is contingent upon payment of dues each anniversary date of your membership. Persons desiring re-installment may do so by simply sending a letter with a completed application form, to the San Antonio address asking to be reinstalled. The letter should be accompanied by a payment of dues for at least one year. Send the letter, application, and dues to:

Membership entitles the person to a voice in the internal affairs of the International Order of St. Luke the Physician, plus the year's subscription to Sharing, The Journal of Christian Healing, and other benefits and aids to your ministry as are provided from time to time. Members are also eligible to vote and to hold office.

Shortly after the office has processed your application you will receive a member's handbook, associate member pin, and your first copy of the Sharing Magazine, the journal of Christian healing.
